How Much Do Yamaha Boats Cost?
A new Yamaha jet boat will cost you anywhere from $40,000 to well over $130,000 for the highest-end model. If you have a lower budget, then you can save money by opting for a certified pre-owned boat, some of which come with a trailer.
Yamaha sells a wide range of boats for different budgets and needs, but all of them come with amazing features and all the power you need for a day on the water.
Benefits of Having a Jet Boat
Choosing a jet boat gives you exceptional performance. They are designed for speed and thrills rather than a more leisurely experience.
What makes the difference? A jet boat is powered by a water jet system, not a propeller. The motor location is flexible, which leads to some options for seating space and storage.
Jet boats are also safe and user-friendly. They're typically easier to drive than propeller boats for the same speed. When you find a Yamaha® jet boat for sale in Miami, you are signing up for hours of adventure on the water.
Jet Boat FAQ
Do Jet Boats Use a Lot of Fuel?
No! Jet boats are actually much more efficient than traditionally powered boats, saving costs and giving them a longer range. They are about 50% more fuel-efficient.
How Much Water Does a Jet Boat Need?
Most Yamaha jet boats can operate in as little as 14" of water. A jet boat can navigate in very shallow water, giving you the freedom to explore beyond what a traditional boat can reach. They are less likely to be damaged if they do run aground or hit an object.
What About Debris in the Impeller?
While there's no propeller to tangle, it is possible to suck up weeds or leaves in the impeller. Fortunately, these boats are designed to make it easy to access from inside the boat. All you have to do is pop open a hatch and pull out the weeds.
Are Jet Boats Loud?
Jet boats are known for being loud. Modern Yamaha boats, however, have a lot of sound deadening. They are about as loud as a stern drive boat, perhaps slightly louder at full speed.
How Much Maintenance Do They Need?
Very little, compared to a propeller-driven boat. Yamaha jet boats need an oil change every fifty hours, and new spark plugs every 400 hours. That is about it.
Can Jet Boats be Re-Powered?
No. The engine is integral to the boat, but if you're in the market for a more powerful boat, you can check our inventory to see what you can trade it in for. Fortunately, jet boats hold value well in the secondary market.
Are Jet Boats Good for Beginners?
Yes. They are low maintenance, the controls are simple, and it's harder to run aground. They are much easier to drive than a stern-drive boat.

Learn More About Yamaha® Marine Jet Boats
For over 50 years, Yamaha® has led the way when it comes to creating excellent, high-quality watercraft of all types, including jet boats. Yamaha® boats are made to exceed customers’ expectations by providing all the features and amenities they want combined with powerful performance. As your local Yamaha® boat dealer, Jet Ski of Miami is proud to detail a little of the history behind jet boats and how Yamaha® has innovated in this arena.
History Of Jet Boats
Jet boats were developed during the 1950s in New Zealand to solve the problem of boating in the very shallow, fast rivers that proliferate there. With rocks constantly damaging and destroying boat propellers, boating enthusiasts needed a new solution, and Sir William Hamilton came up with it in 1954 with his waterjet invention.
The new propulsion system made jet boats faster and more nimble than traditional motorboats, able to stop very suddenly and turn quickly. These features all led to jet boats becoming wildly popular both in and out of New Zealand within a few years. Jet boats have seen use as patrol boats, passenger ferries, supply boats, and rescue crafts due to their versatility and ease of handling, but they’re also amazing entertainment and relaxation craft for recreational boaters.
Yamaha® Internal Propulsion System
In 1991, Yamaha® made waves with its unique jet propulsion system that they initially had developed for their WaveRunner watercraft. Designers recognized the system’s potential to make boating more enjoyable by coupling power with a shallow draft, letting the boats skim over the surface of very shallow water without running aground. Worrying about propeller damage became a thing of the past when Yamaha® began to construct their jet boats around this feature.
Yamaha® Jet Boat Models
Yamaha® offers a wide range of jet boats, from 19 to 29 feet in length, including wake boats and center console styles. With features ranging from Bimini™ tops over sturdy aluminum towers to wide swim platforms, Yamaha® jet boats are geared towards making you comfortable and content out on the water. Upholstered seats and extra storage options will ensure that your guests are happy, too.
